S-Type V6 & V8, X-Type: 1998 -

The Jaguar S-Type (V6 & V8) and X-Type, produced from 1998 onward, represent Jaguar’s return to compact and mid-size executive saloons with a blend of classic styling cues and modern engineering. The S-Type featured powerful 3.0L V6 and 4.0L (later 4.2L) V8 engines, delivering a refined yet dynamic driving experience, while the smaller X-Type shared its platform with Ford’s Mondeo but was fitted with Jaguar’s distinctive design, luxurious interiors, and available all-wheel drive. Both models aimed to capture the essence of Jaguar tradition in a modern, everyday format.
