Tube

Tubeless - The chrome wheels have been tubeless since October 2007; and the silver-painted wheels have been tubeless since April 2017. If you have the older, tubed wheels or are fitting tube-type tyres you will need 175/185 x 15 tubes and we recommend using 15"/16" rim bands.

Tubeless - This wheel has always been tubeless. Tubes are only required if fitting tube-type tyres. If you are using tube-type tyres or wish to fit a tube for any other reason then you will need 195/205 x 15 tubes and we recommend 15"/16" rim bands.

Notes

A fitment check is recommended with this wheel due to possible problems with calliper clearance. We know of a customer who has fitted this wheel on a DB4 Mk 5 without any problems.

Should fit without arch modifications.

May fit subject to fitment check – has not been tried, tested or verified by ACWW. You may need to relocate the bump stop strap if using this wider wheel.

This wheel has been developed for Aston Martin DB4 Racing. Slight arch modifications at the front and rear are required.

Warranty

Stainless Steel and Chrome: two year structural and cosmetic
Painted: two year structural and one year cosmetic

Please retain the warranty tag supplied with each wheel as it contains the information required to identify the wheel in the event of a claim.

Please note: ACWW warranty automatically becomes void if the wheels have been: subject to re-work or change; fitted with tyres other than the manufacturer’s recommended fitment; or used for track events.

Note

We recommend using our 42mm wooden spinner saver to protect the knock-on caps (spinners) when using a copper and hide hammer.

XW5726, XW5770 & XW5796: Due to the positioning of the centre in relation to the rim you will require an extra-deep wooden spinner saver

Click here for advice on how tight to apply spinners.

Due to the design of the centre of the XW5768 this three-eared spinner is not the best fit for this wheel. It is still safe to fit these spinners, however, we would recommend using the two-eared spinners.

We recommend using our copper and hide hammer to tighten/loosen the knock-on caps (spinners).

Extra Information

Other comments

The DB4 four-seater Saloon (1953-1963) was also available with a Vantage engine (3750cc).

The two-seater DB4 GT was introduced in 1959 (until 1963) and had a revised stronger engine and a short wheel base body.

The DB4 Convertible (Drophead Coupé) was introduced in 1961, some of them were also available with a Vantage engine.

The two-seater Coupé DB4 GT Zagato (1961-1963) had the shortened chassis of the “standard” DB4 GT and due to its light weight was especially used for racing.

Always check the history of the vehicle to ensure that there have been no modifications to the running gear.

Hubs/splines, spinners and nuts remain the same, unless noted otherwise, regardless of which wheel is fitted.

We also stock wire wheel maintenance accessories such as our Cleaning Kit (Refills available) and Cleaning Brush.
